A World War II Memorial located in front of Belmont Middle School in Belmont, NC. The sculpture is by Ernest Moore "Dick" Viquesney the same sculptor that created "The Spirit of the American Doughboy"
Dedicated after Viquesney's death in 1946 the front of the memorial reads:
Erected In Honor Of All Who Served In World War II
And Dedicated To The Everlasting Memory Of Those Who Gave Thier Lives.
the back reads:
Erected By The Citizens of Belmont.
Sponsored By The Junior Chamber Of Commerce.
