This old windmill used to pump water into the adjacent water tank. It's one of those peculiar remnants of the late 19th century when the Oceanview neighborhood was first settled. Currently, the neighborhood is primarily industrial, with generic cinderblock buildings and the occasional trendy new office building. Although the windmill still spins and adds a picturesque quality to the now urban neighborhood, the owners of the property said it does not work. One can only hope that with rising energy costs, this "free" energy generator might see a second life.
