The Goodwin-Baggott pottery plant in East Liverpool was built in the early years of the city’s dominance as a leading pottery center of the American West and began manufacturing ceramics in 1843. In 1897 it was converted for the production of potter's supplies which were produced until the facility closed in 1939. This is the earliest pottery site remaining in the city once known as "America's Crockery City."
