"Originally a log building, from March through November 1838, Lt. Colonel Joseph Hammond Tuttle replaced it with a 1-story cobblestone building. It measured 52 by 29 feet and 10" thick walls. The cost was $1,550.
In 1907 William F. Fordon purchased the tavern and added the second story which is not cobblestone." excerpt from "Cobblestone Quest"
Fortunately it has been restored and preserved so that we can stop in today for a meal and a visit to the past!
