An Azimuth mark located in an orchard that has turned the tables - having outlived it's Station and RM's!
Waymark Code: WM3ZME
Location: Pennsylvania, United States

This green AZ mark is set in one of the most attractive white quartz outcroppings I have run across - the pictures don't do it justice.
The main Station and Reference Marks appeared to have been uprooted long ago - they were found to be missing from their location, with 2 of the marks discovered lying prone at the edge of a field (see link to main station farther down this page).
The owner of the orchard has taken steps to protect this mark - he noted that the main station was destroyed when he acquired the property.
Below are the details on the AZ from the datasheet of BIG HILL (KW2826):
THE AZIMUTH MARK IS A STANDARD DISK, ABOUT 0.3 MILE E OF THE STATION, SET IN A DRILL HOLE IN BEDROCK ABOUT 3 BY 2 FEET IN DIAMETER AND PROJECTS 6 INCHES. IT IS 0.1 MILE NE OF THE RED HOUSE, 40 FEET W OF A DIM ROAD THROUGH APPLE ORCHARD, AND 100 FEET N OF ROAD LEADING TO STATION. THE DISK IS STAMPED BIG HILL 1942. TO REACH FROM THE RED HOUSE GO E ON DIRT ROAD FOR 0.1 MILE TO TOP OF GRADE AND DIM ROAD LEFT THROUGH ORCHARD, AND MARK ON LEFT IN WHITE ROCK.
Azimuth Condition: Marked/Scarred
Your Directions: From PA 34 (Carlisle RD) (N or S)proced to Cline's Church RD which is on W side of highway. Follow Cline's Church RD to Big Hill RD. Proceed NNW on Big Hill RD for almost a mile to the crest of a hill and an orchard access road running sharply SSW. (Note: area is posted - permission required to visit this AZ Mark).
Follow gravel road SW, then WSW for about 2000 feet to a small building on the left & the mark on the right - about 50 feet N of the road between 2 rows of trees. It is across the road from pole #14990-24465.
