Schaumburg, Illinois is a suburban employment center located near the convergence of the Northwest Tollway (I-90) and I-290.The Village of Schaumburg is located 26 miles northwest of downtown Chicago and nine miles west of the O'Hare International Airport.
On November 11, 1989, Schaumburg became the first community in the Chicago area with a public-use helistop. The Schaumburg Municipal Helistop is located at 1050 East American Lane between Meacham Road and Plum Grove Road, one block south of Golf Road (Illinois Rt. 58).
Schaumburg contains over 9.6 million ft.2 of commercial space, 12.1 million ft.2 of office space, and 13.2 million ft.2 of industrial space. There are currently 21 hotels and over 200 restaurants within the village's boundaries. Nearly 85,000 individuals work in Schaumburg.
