Moody Gardens is a hodge-podge of attractions. Go for the Aquarium, Rainforest and 4D Ride Film. Skip the rest (unless you haven't seen the IMAX that is playing) or you might regret it.

The good: The aquarium and rainforest are neat and the gardens (free) are pretty. The 4D Ride Film is something you've probably never experienced before and it might scare you. The Festival of Lights is really cool for Christmas, even if the ice rink has a layer of water on top. And the 3D IMAX is, well, a 3D IMAX - nothing spectacular.

The bad: The Colonel Paddlewheel is a fake steamboat that plods in a big circle in the cove between Moody Gardens and 61st Street; Palm Beach is a fake beach less than a mile from the real beach; the Ride Film is pure torture; and Discovery Pyramid will have you wondering why you walked in.
