Taken from the plaque attached to the wall by mural:
This beautifully executed mural depicts a few of Monterey County's endangered plants, animals, and eco systems from the proud Bald Eagle to the diminutive California Red Legged Frog. Plants indigenous to the fragile dunes and wetland eco systems are also depicted. These plants and their habitates are put in jeopardy by pollution and over development amongst other threats. Many conservation strategies have shown encouraging results with animals such as the Sea Otter, which was once thought to be extict. With increased awareness and public support of conservation, these animals will one again flourish.
