This church was erected by Seventh Day Adventists in 1858 and was the location of the New York Conference for the Seventh Day Adventist-New York Conference in 1862. Hiram Edson was a prominent figure in the church and spent extensive time here at Roosevelt Church. After his passing, he was buried in the cemetery adjacent to the church property. There is a N.Y. Historical Plaque placed here on the church front lawn that details some of that history.
