This is a simple three piece brick wall, 4 feet high with a flag pole in front of it to commemorate soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War. At the top of the wall is a marble coping which has names engraved in the stone.

This entire area is littered with memorials for everything imaginable. What I could not understand is how such a terrible and controversial war was limited to such a small memorial in comparison to the other ostentatious memorials nearby which pale in comparison (as far as relevance goes) for historical import.
The park has undergone much rehab and revitalization in the last decade or so. With the exception of local graffiti, this is indeed a beautiful place to visit, picnic, or to just come and sit and reflect.
