Dedicated 2007 - “(The pole) serves as a reminder for all to visualize and pray for peace,” a church member said. The idea for the pole came in 2006 when sixth grade students wanted to recognize the International Day of Peace. A church member, a local contractor and a part of St. Isidore’s Peace and Social Justice ministry, donated his time and expertise to design and construct the obelisk. The ceremony concluded with the students from kindergarten through eighth grades singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”
