This is the heart of the "Blue and Gold" and home to the CAL Bear football team. It opened in 1923 and seats approximately 75,000 fans.
The building sits atop the Hayward fault. It is currently the site for a heated political protest as the University's plans to expand the facility include removing a historic grove of oak trees and covering what may be the site of a Native burial ground. Currently a group of protesters are living in the trees to the west of the stadium.
