There are two tennis courts on Boston Common in the heart of Boston. The courts are paved and are surrounded by a high chain-link fence.
There is a painted symbol on the court surface that identifies that it is owned by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department. Unfortunately, I could not find any other signs that told of how to use the facilities. You can't assume that just because the facility is empty that it's open for use. The facilities are used in the summer as part of programs for youths. The web site is here: (
