Along with the now removed North Hall, this building designed by Farquharson & Kenitzer was one of the first two original buildings of the U.C. Campus. The building is a 4-story 2nd Empire-style brick construction with a mansard roof. It features friezes of wheat sheaves on the columns and tall French-inspired windows. It is currently the home of the School of Information Management and Systems (formerly known as Library Sciences.
While the attention of many tourists is captured by the nearby Sather Tower Campenile, just to the southwest, is this modest treasure.
