The White Rock Mountain Recreation Area is on an Ozark Plateau with steep bluffs. Use extreme caution and keep children in check. Seven people have fallen to their deaths over the years. It is completely safe, however, if you stay on the trails and within the overlook areas.
Overlook Shelter.
The CCC built several structures on the mountain. The coordinates given are for the easiest to reach overlook with the best all-around views. The overlook is less than .2 mile from the parking area and is an excellent place to photograph both sunrises and sunsets.
