Built during the reign of Rama VI in the 1920s, it is considered the most beautiful train station in the country. Most noticeable difference is the royal waiting room, a separate building beside the depot, where the king and queen meet their guests arriving by train.

It is still a very active train depot, but many people who travel to Hua Hin in other modes still come to the depot to have their picture made in front of the royal waiting room.
