This General Land Office survey marker was placed in 1920 to mark the southeast corner of the Baca Location #1 land grant, most of which is now the Valles Caldera National Preserve. However, this corner of the Baca grant is now within the boundaries of Bandelier National Monument.

From Los Alamos, drive west on state road 4 to the county line. The marker is a couple hundred feet south of a sharp curve in the road. It is set on a pipe driven into the ground. There is an orange witness post next to it, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. There are four marked bearing trees surrounding the mark, including one that is blazed and carved with the inscription PL SE COR BT.
