This memorial was dedicated in 2002 and is part of the Westpark Cleveland Police and Fire Fighters Walkway. The walkway is a .25 mile side walk with that overlooks the Valley of the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. It is decorated with ornate iron works that depict fireman and police officers doing their jobs. The Westpark Neighborhood is sort of The "COP TOWN" area of Cleveland. The majority of Cleveland Fire Fighters and Police Officer live in this area as do many other city employees. Due to a City Ordinace Cleveland City employees are forced to live in the city of Cleveland.
The heros listed on this monument lived in this neighborhood, the monument was paid for and is maintained by families of Police and Firefighters who live in this Westpark Nieghborhood.
