Federal courthouse built 1935-37 at a cost of approximately $1,864,000. The courthouse was designed by architect Ralph Cameron. The building is noted for its murals painted by Howard Cook. The building was renamed the Hipolito F. Garcia Federal Building and United States Courthouse in 2004 in honor of a former US. District Court Judge. The building is located on what was a portion of the Alamo battlefield.
