Many people have heard this man speak, preach and teach but few people know where he actually got his start. Well this mural celebrates the beginings of one of the Greatest men of God today.
Before embarking on his lifetime of service to The Lord, Billy Graham attended church and was baptized right here in Palatka...in Silver Lake Pond. Soon after, he gave his first sermon here at Peniel Baptist Church. And, as they say, "The rest is history."
One of the interesting things about the artist is his nack for putting a bit of whimsy into his murals. When visiting this waymark see if you can find the hidden "churchmouse" in the mural, hint it is around the church steps.
