This bridge has been replaced by the nearby New Temple bridge on the A30.The roar of the traffic hurtling by spoils this picturesque spot.
The bridge was probably built when the new turnpike road from Launceston to Bodmin was built across the wilds of Bodmin Moor in the mid 18th century. This new road cut the journey time into Cornwall by enabling travellers to avoid going through Camelford and around the north of the moor.
