On the western edge of the grassy area in front of the church, stands this graceful memorial to the 'Milnthorpe Lads who died for God King and Country in the Great War for Freedom 1914-18'.

The slender cross rises from a cross shaped base. The front faces have the inscriptions on. There are 21 names listed, and include where they fell: Gallipoli, Belgium, France and Turkey. Two of the dates given are in 1919 and January 1920.

The space around it makes this an attractive memorial, one not tucked away in a corner.
