This welcome sign is on 175th Street coming into Gardner from I-35.

The Santa Fe, Oregon, and California trails used the same trail until it reached Gardner. Then, the California and Oregon trails split at a sign that read "To Oregon" which was tacked to a tree. This is the reason for the motto of Gardner, Kansas.
