The Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church was founded in 1717. The current building dates to 1829.
Among the 243 marked graves is the grave of Samuel Childs, founder of the Child's restaurant chain, the nation's largest restaurant chain in the early 20th century. Childs' innovations included the first waitresses.
Also buried here is Henry Southard, an officer in the NJ militia during the American Revolution and member of the US House of Representatives from 1801-1811
The church yard features a 500 - 600 year old oak tree that shades most of the graves.
