One of Fort Worth's finest examples of Art Deco style, this sixteen story Zigzag Moderne building features Mayan-inspired detailing in the screen above the main entrance, in the stepped-fret design of the limestone parapets, and in the corbeled arch surrounds around the ground floor elevator doors. Noted Fort Worth architect Wiley G. Clarkson was hired to design the most up-to-date skyscraper in the city. Visits were made to Chicago, Detroit, and New York before finalizing the design. The building picked up the name of its first major tenant, Sinclair Oil.
