Provident Skatepark was busy with many young people inline skating, skateboarding, biking, and just generally having a blast when I visited on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon. Parents and families were sitting on the nearby stadium seats or in their vehicles, enjoying themselves almost as much as the skaters.
This park is the 'kewlest' I've found so far - the skatepark is huge - bigger and with more options than even the one in Santa Monica that I visited. There was surprisingly little graffitti, and virtually no trash laying around. The skatepark is part of the bigger Recreation Park which has childrens' play areas, picnic areas and lots of open spaces near downtown Visalia. The skatepark area is not fenced which gives it a feeling of total freedom - something that designers should try to maintain.
I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
