At one time a cow pasture, the Visalia Municipal Airport began as two grassy strips in 1928, after being dedicated the previous year.
The airport has a 6,559' runway and a full length, 50' wide taxiway. There is a helipad at the airport, used for, among other things, rescue work and fire control.
Several courier services have hangars at this airport, and there is daily passenger service to and from Las Vegas.
