This history museum is designed around the concept of self learning. School groups as well as visitors are met by period dressed characters who give guided tours of the museum. Much of the museum is developed around early Florida Period of the Spanish era. There are special programs for School groups as well here. Here is the School Group[ project format:
*** A guide in period dress greets the group upon arrival and gives an orientation with rules prior to entering.
The guide shares an abbreviated history of the time period.
Students make projects that they will take home. Projects are as follows:
* Timucua-Indian jewelry
* Spanish-Hand dipped candle
* Pioneer-Parchment that students have written on using a quill pen.
The students learn about these periods in Florida history by seeing and doing crafts from thosse eras.
