"Sharon was one of the facilitators of this mural in Southwest Detroit. She also participated in the painting of the mural. She painted the third figure from the left, the Viet Namese woman as well as the Native American woman in the center and the Somalian man, fifth from the right. She also painted several flags in the border. The mural was commissioned by Freedom House, a shelter for political refugees in Detroit. Sharon spent several years at Freedom House as a volunteer doing art with the residents."
