From the "About Us" page on the museum website:
The Center for Puppetry Arts is a unique cultural treasure - a magical place where children and adults are educated, enlightened and entertained. Since 1978, the Center has introduced millions of visitors to the wonder and art of puppetry, and has touched the lives of many through enchanting performances, curriculum-based workshops and the hands-on Museum, as well as Distance Learning and Outreach Programs.
The center includes a permanent exhibit with displays detailing the history of puppetry around the world. The exhibit even includes a room where you can control several varieties of puppets yourself. In addition to the permanent exhibit, the center houses special exhibits. A Jim Henson wing is planned to be opened in 2012.
The center also includes a theater where daily puppet shows are performed. There is also a puppet workshop where children can create their own puppets, usually themed to the show currently playing at the theater.
