I stumbled upon this historical marker while caching in the foothills above Springville, CA. There is a cache located nearby. This is at a pull-out along a narrow, winding road (which is icy and often snow-covered in the winter months). A good place to stop and look down at the valley or turn around and up at the mountain behind.
This plaque tells the history of a 'battle' that ocurred nearby over 150 years ago, incited by rumors, so the story goes. Someone visiting before me had carefully placed a sprig of leaves/flowers atop the plaque.
