This is another of the many tanks we ran across while attending Geocoinfest 2007.
We had a blast in this part of Kansas while here.
We will truly have to get back again.
This is one more of those Benchmark Tanks.

1/1/1972 by NGS (FIRST OBSERVED)
DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 (ILC) THE STATION, PRAIRIE VILLAGE MUNICIPAL TANK, IS THE CENTER OF THE TOP OF A ELEVATED WATER TANK, PAINTED BLUE AND IS SUPPORTED BY TEN ROUND LEGS. THE STRUCTURE HAS AN OVERALL HEIGHT OF 170 FEET, A CAPACITY OF 1,000,000 GALLONS AND IS LOCATED AT THE JUNCTION OF 78TH AND DELMAR STREETS IN PRAIRIE VILLAGE, A SUB DIVISION OF KANSAS CITY. THE TANK IS OWNED BY WATER DISTRICT NO. 1 OF JOHNSON COUNTY.
