"About the Consulate
The Consulate General of India was opened in April, 1996. The Consulate is now fully functional and provides consular, commercial and cultural services.
The consular services consists of issue of passports, visas for tourists, enterpreneurs and students visiting India and also assistance to Indians visiting Brazil.
The commercial wing seeks to strengthen trade relation between Brazil and India. Indian exporters´ contacts in several diffetent sectors are available by e-mail.
The cultural service envisages promotion of events on Indian culture, supporting professionals who promote and learn Indian music, dance, etc. These events are mentioned on our website in the NEWS section.
The States of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul fall under jurisdiction of this Consulate.
Residents of Northern and Western States, Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo may obtain information and services from the Embassy of India in Brasilia. The Consulate General of India in São Paulo maintains and offers to its visitors, a library equipped with Cds, DVDs, Cd roms and video tapes, all available for borrowing.
