As a result of an investigation of the fire two fraternity brothers were cited with one taken into custody charged with hazing, fireworks violations and an arson charge (not tied to this fire). The national Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity organization has suspended the chapter for four years as a result of the investigation also. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is currently undergoing renovations.
