This plaque is located at the corner of a parking lot for a Shaw's supermarket, near the northeast corner of the building. The marker reads:
"Samuel Sparhawk House stood 170 feet south from this spot
Demolished 1898
In this house Colonel Thomas Gardner died July 3 1775 after receiving a mortal wound at the Battle of Bunker Hill
Erected by the City of Boston - August 3, 1907"
