Text on the sign on the bakeries wall
Bill Karnowsky's Auto and Evinrude Outboard Motors garage was a fixture on Bay Street for half a century, from 1944-1995.
Located next to the bridge-currently housing Siuslaw River Coffee Roasters- this neon sign graced the exterior of an unassuming metal building. While inside, Bill a native Oregonian, retold, until his late eighties, stories of earlier times to an expectant audience.
The sign is on loan, restored by it's owner and Bill's friend, Ken Sierra.
