The Gibbs Hill lighthouse dates back to 1844 and is 117 feet high. To reach the top, you'll have to traverse 185 steps, but will be treated to a fantastic view! Gibbs Hill is 245 feet above sea level, so with the height of the lighthouse the top is 362 feet - making the light visible for up to 40 miles (120 miles from a plane at 10,000 feet). The light consists of a 1,000 bulb which rotates in a trough of mercury.
