According to the bookstore's web page, the Tappin Book Mine was Established in 1975 by F. Donald Tappin. From the beginning they have been very much a "General" book shop, i.e., not highly specialized. They began in a little cubbyhole on Orange Street in Neptune Beach. They quickly outgrew the premises and relocated to 26 Seminole Road, Atlantic Beach, where they remained for about 2 years. That space also proved too small so they relocated to their present location in 1978 and have expanded twice since. Their present location is about 2200 square feet, including office, storage, and the Catalog Room. Parking in front is limited, but there is an empty lot next door that is generally available. The store is open daily (except Sundays) from 11am to 6pm.
