The Fernandina Skate Park was recently constructed near Fernandina's Main Beach. A true grass roots story of the local BMX bikers and Skater's forming Operation Skate, lobbying local government and raising funds to fund the park. The children earned the Tony Hawk Foundation award, had a celebrity bagging event at the local supermarkets, and had numerous car washes.
