This scenic overlook at north end of the west dam of Diamond Valley Lake.
Access is from Hwy 79 south of Domenigoni Parkway. Follow the MWD signs to the Clayton A Record, JR Viewpoint.
Access is limited to Fridays to Mondays 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and you will need to show ID to gain access. There is no fee charged. Park in the parking lot and maybe get some informational brochures. Porta potties are available in the parking lot.
Then take the paved trail to the top of the hill, it's only a couple of hundred yards.
At the top of the hill one will find a compass rose as well as a benchmark.
This viewpoint gives a great view of the west end of Diamond Valley Lake as well as the west dam and other control structures.
