This is probably the best spot for RVs in the Valley, with spaces right on the banks of the palm-fringed Arroyo Colorado. Other amenities include three fishing piers, a hiking trail, boat ramps, and picnic tables with grills.

The fishing piers, picnic tables, and RV sites are all parallel to the park road, with the boat ramp at the end of the road. The hiking trail also parallels the road, starting at the park entrance and running to N26 20.825, W097 24.240. The trail crosses the road twice at a fishing pier (N26° 20.784, W97° 24.476 and N26° 20.756, W97° 24.617); between these trailheads would be the spot to park for a short hike - from here, both the east and west legs of the trail are a half-mile round-trip. To the south of the trail are views of Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge; to the north are views of the Arroyo Colorado.
If you're going to any of Cameron County's other parks after this one, beware the self-pay station. The other parks will accept a receipt from Adolph Thomae for entry, but not the self-serve envelope.
