The Twilite Drive-In Theater had two identical neon signs, which Thomas Mudd managed to salvage. The first of which is displayed outdoors across the street from where the drive-in used to be.
The second one was in storage for ten years until the perfect place to display it was found. Inside the oldest commercial building in town. Domagalski Photography is running their business there, and set up the studio's waiting area for the neon sign. Plans are for other signs to be displayed there as well.
They were closed when we swung past the last stop on our tour, but you can still see the sign through the window. Isn't it a beauty?
The Farkles sure love these old neon signs, but Thomas Mudd is out there saving them for the city of Saginaw. We were just in complete awe, of not just the signs, but also of one guy trying to make a difference.
