"A time capsule representative of life in Southfield, Michigan in the year 1987 is interred here in commemoration of Michigan's 150th anniversary of statehood on Jan 25, 1987, by the city of Southfield, the Southfield sesquecentennial advisory board and the Southfield Historical Society.
May 16, 1987"
