From the city website:
"Constructed at a cost of $70,000 for the business enterprises of B.K. Bullard, the Bullard Block was hailed as the "architectural gem of Lake Wales." It became the commercial center of the town in the early 1920s when it housed a drug store, barber shop, post office, dry goods store and meat market. Municipal offices and a bowling alley for duck pins occupied the upper floor at the time."
