In the winter of 1861-1862 over 300 Confederate Soldiers died of measles, typhoid Fever, Pneumonia and other diseases here at Camp Alcorn in Hopkinsville, KY. Some of the dead were taken home by relatives for burial in local family cemeteries. The cemetery holds the remains of the 293 men that remained.
