Two doors provided acces to the latrines which had a surface area of 82m2. The floor is constituted of pink limestone. The sanitary facility included a peripheral discharge canal over which the toilets were located. There was a stream of water which passed in front of the seated persons used for washing the feet. Marble pannels decorated the walls and the upper parts were adorned in frescoes.
On the opposite side, a monumental fountain was located mid-way between the two doors. A curved pool of water in white marble was set up against the wall. The latrines were open-air surrouned by a colonnade which supported some kind of covering.
An effective management of air flow permitted the minimization of disagreeable odors.
