The New York Chocolate and Confections Co. plant located in Fulton, New York, was in operation for a short few months, using funds provided by the Ivory Coast consortium and a California based finance company. During unrest in the Ivory Coast, the plant sat idle with just a handful of employees maintaining the plants basic functions. Eventually, they became extremely indebted to the city in utilities and taxes, but at the last minute, came through with the money to pay off their debts. No chocolate had been produced here since their initial sample runs. However, it was hoped that eventually they would start up production again.
