This cemetery is located along Hwy 31, just east of Silver Lake in Lake County. The cemetery contains about 1000 graves. The largest monument in the cemetery is for the 43 victims of the 1894 Christmas Eve Fire. During a Christmas Eve party attended by 170 people, a kerosene lantern was knocked over starting a fire. Panicked people rushed to exit doors which swung inward only. Many were trapped as the fire rapidly engulfed the building. By the time the fire was extinguished, 40 individals - eight men, sixteen women, and sixteen children - were dead, and roughly 25 others were injured, 3 of which died later.
