A Scenic Railroad in Maryland running from Cumberland to Frostburg, MD.
Has First class or coach seating and a dining car too. Standard trips are 3 1/2 hours round trip, with meals provided for first class. Includes bridges, at least one tunnel, and great mountain scenery. Historic and beautiful. In the fall especially, reservations are recommended...also for special rides. Listed Fairs are 2007 coach standard excursion...first class is almost twice that (includes a meal).
In addition to the standard ride (diesel, I think), in season it has special fall foliage rides, murder mysteries, kids day ("Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine", a fake steam engine, but cute), Wintery "Santa Express" ride (usually steam, I think), a unique "Butterfly Memorial" ride, and other special events for everyone to enjoy.
Also check out the C&O museum, while at the Cumberland station.
