The East Hill Residential Historic District encompasses several blocks of historic houses blanketing the hill rising out of the Wisconsin River Valley on the east side of Wausau.

The district is bounded by 6th Street on the West, 10th Street on the East, Adams Street on the North, Scott Street on the South, and Bellis Street on the Southwest. In this district are four houses that are on the National Register of Historic Places in their own right as well as many houses that are local historic houses. As you walk through the neighborhood, you will see plaques on many of the houses giving a name and date for the house. It is a beautiful area with lots of history.
Many of the houses were designed by architect Alexander Eschweiler.
